About AgileX Robotics

AgileX Robotics was founded in 2018 in Dongguan and has built a strong reputation as a manufacturer of versatile mobile robot platforms aimed at research institutions, universities, and developers. Rather than targeting mass-market commercial deployment, AgileX has focused on producing capable, well-documented robots that make credible research platforms accessible at reasonable cost.

The LIMO, HUNTER, and RANGER series cover a range of sizes, payloads, and terrain capabilities. LIMO is a compact multi-modal platform capable of switching between wheeled, tracked, and Ackermann drive configurations, making it popular for algorithm development and teaching. HUNTER and RANGER are larger outdoor platforms suited to field robotics research and agricultural applications.

AgileX has cultivated strong relationships with robotics programmes at universities in China, Europe, and North America, and their ROS-compatible software stack and open documentation have helped cement their position in the research market.

Key Products

• LIMO: Compact multi-modal research robot supporting four drive modes; widely used in university labs.
• HUNTER Series: Four-wheel differential drive outdoor platforms with higher payloads for field research.
• RANGER Series: Rugged outdoor mobile robots for agricultural and inspection applications.
• TRACER: Indoor AGV-style platform for logistics and warehouse research.

UK Market Presence

AgileX robots are available in the UK through authorised distributors and direct online purchase. The LIMO is popular in UK university robotics and autonomous systems programmes, with pricing around £1,500 to £2,500 new. Larger platforms are available through specialist distributors with pricing from approximately £5,000 upwards.

Buying Used AgileX Robotics Equipment

Used AgileX platforms appear occasionally through university equipment disposals and specialist secondhand robotics dealers in the UK. LIMO units in good condition trade between £600 and £1,200. Check battery health, motor condition, and that the ROS interface is functioning correctly. Software support is active and community resources are extensive, making AgileX a lower-risk secondhand purchase than many Chinese platforms.
