About Andromeda Robotics

Andromeda Robotics is a Melbourne-based robotics company developing Abi, an expressive humanoid companion robot designed specifically for deployment in aged care facilities in Australia and internationally. The company focuses on the emotional and social wellbeing benefits of humanoid companions for elderly residents, addressing loneliness and cognitive stimulation rather than physical task performance.

Abi is designed with an approachable, non-threatening aesthetic that has been developed in consultation with aged care operators and residents. The robot combines speech recognition, natural language processing, and expressive face technology to conduct conversations, lead simple activities, and provide a sense of social engagement for residents who may have limited family contact or mobility.

Andromeda Robotics is part of Australia's growing healthcare technology sector and has engaged with aged care operators for pilot deployments. The ageing demographics of Australia, the UK, and other developed nations represent a substantial addressable market for companion robotics in care environments.

Key Products

• Abi: Expressive humanoid companion robot designed for aged care; features conversational AI and emotional expression for social engagement with elderly users.

UK Market Presence

Andromeda Robotics is primarily focused on the Australian market at present but has indicated interest in UK and European expansion given the comparable demographics and care sector structure. No formal UK distribution has been announced. UK aged care operators interested in companion robotics should engage directly with the company for pilot programme discussions.

Buying Used Andromeda Robotics Equipment

No secondhand Andromeda Robotics hardware is available on the UK market. Abi units are deployed through institutional partnerships rather than open commercial sales. Any future secondhand availability would most likely arise from aged care operators cycling out pilot units.
