About Robosen

Robosen is a Shenzhen-based robotics company that occupies an unusual position in the market, combining consumer-grade programmable humanoids with licensed entertainment properties. The company has developed a proprietary servo and control platform that enables highly expressive, programmable movement in robots sold at consumer price points, a technically demanding achievement that has earned them a loyal following among hobbyists and educators.

Their licensed robot products, including a self-transforming Optimus Prime and a Buzz Lightyear model produced in partnership with Hasbro and Disney respectively, brought the company global brand recognition beyond the robotics enthusiast community. These products demonstrated that high-quality consumer robotics could be commercially viable when paired with compelling intellectual property.

The educational and programmable side of the business targets STEM education markets, with robots designed to teach coding and mechanics concepts in an engaging format. Robosen's platform supports block-based and Python programming, making their products accessible across a wide age range.

UK Market Presence

Robosen products are available in the UK through online retailers and specialist toy and hobby stores. The licensed entertainment robots retail between £400 and £700 and have been available on Amazon UK and through specialist retailers. The programmable education range is also available, with pricing from around £150 to £350 depending on the model.

Buying Used Robosen Equipment

Used Robosen robots appear regularly on eBay UK and Facebook Marketplace, typically at 30 to 50 percent below retail. Battery condition and servo health are the primary concerns on older units. Confirm that the companion app is still supported for the specific firmware version, as some older models have limited ongoing software updates. The licensed entertainment models retain collector value and often sell near retail price secondhand.
