“Vietnam's first general-purpose humanoid robots.”
Vingroup subsidiary in Hanoi building humanoid robots for VinFast factories -- Vietnam's first humanoid programme.
VinMotion is a subsidiary of Vingroup, Vietnam's largest conglomerate, which also operates VinFast, the country's first domestically produced electric vehicle brand. Established in Hanoi, VinMotion is developing humanoid robots intended for deployment in VinFast's automotive manufacturing facilities, making it part of an integrated industrial strategy rather than an independent robotics company seeking external customers.
The company's robots represent Vietnam's first serious attempt at humanoid robotics development and carry national significance as a symbol of Vietnam's ambitions to move up the manufacturing value chain. The development programme benefits from Vingroup's financial resources and from direct access to VinFast's manufacturing environments, which provide real-world testing and deployment conditions.
VinMotion's engineering team is being built through a combination of international recruitment and collaboration with Vietnamese technical universities. The programme is at an earlier stage than many Chinese and US counterparts but has clear strategic backing.
VinMotion has no UK presence or commercial sales channel. The company's output is directed entirely at internal Vingroup deployment. UK interest would be confined to academic and industrial observers monitoring the development of humanoid robotics in Southeast Asia.
No VinMotion hardware is available on the UK secondhand market. The robots are for internal deployment within Vingroup and have not been sold commercially. No secondhand route currently exists.
