£12,000 to £17,000 depending on cycle count, service history, software version, and whether end-of-arm tooling is included. The UR5e retails around £28,000 new with controller; a documented used unit at £14,000 is a significant and defensible saving for most SME applications.
Connect the controller and open PolyScope. Navigate to Settings → System → Robot — the joint runtime hours and cycle data are logged here. You can also request a UR Support diagnostic export for a complete history if the seller has maintained the robot on a service contract.
The arm retains its original CE marking. However, your integrated machine — the arm plus end effector, mounting, and application — requires a conformity assessment under the Machinery Regulations 2008 before deployment in a commercial production environment. Engage a CE marking specialist or qualified integrator before commissioning.
Integration — end effector, mounting, safety assessment, programming, and commissioning — typically costs £8,000 to £40,000 depending on application complexity. For a simple pick-and-place deployment on a known production line, the low end is achievable. For a vision-guided assembly or inspection application, budget toward the high end.
