The gimbal ribbon cable. Ask for a short video showing the gimbal initialising cleanly and staying stable while the drone body is tilted by hand. Any jitter, dropped axis, or banding in footage indicates ribbon cable damage — a £80 to £150 repair.
Yes. You need your own Flyer's ID (£9, CAA online test) and Operator ID (£10.33/year). The previous owner's registrations do not transfer. Apply your Operator ID label to the drone before flying. For sub-250 g recreational use, no additional authorisation is required beyond these two registrations.
