Zebra Technologies
Autonomous cart transport robot from Zebra Technologies with 500 kg payload, 10-hour runtime and 1.4 m/s speed. Priced at $25,000; tows wheeled carts between workstations and packing benches in warehouses and manufacturing plants. Deployed in UK automotive and FMCG facilities alongside human operators.
The Zebra Technologies FetchCart 500 is an autonomous cart transport robot designed for heavy-load movement within manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution environments. With a 500 kg payload and a 10-hour runtime, the FetchCart 500 operates at 1.4 m/s and is well suited to material transport tasks such as moving loaded carts between production stations, transferring goods from receiving to storage, or supplying pick lines with replenishment stock. Zebra acquired Fetch Robotics in 2021, integrating its AMR portfolio with Zebra's wider enterprise technology ecosystem.
The FetchCart 500 uses autonomous navigation without floor markers or magnetic tape, adapting to dynamic warehouse environments with people and other vehicles present. The Fetch Robotics Cloud allows fleet managers to assign tasks, monitor throughput, and integrate with ERP and WMS platforms via REST API.
The FetchCart 500 is deployed in automotive manufacturing, pharmaceutical distribution, and large-format retail distribution centres. For UK operations with mixed human and forklift traffic, the robot's safety-certified navigation and obstacle avoidance make it appropriate for shared-aisle environments where fixed conveyor infrastructure is impractical.
The robot excels at repetitive point-to-point transport missions: pulling carts from a staging area to a picking station, returning empties, or shuttling materials between production cells. Removing these tasks from human workers allows them to focus on higher-value activities.
Used FetchCart 500 units appear on secondary markets via equipment dealers and auction platforms. Because navigation is software-based and does not require floor infrastructure, relocation and redeployment are relatively straightforward compared with fixed-infrastructure systems. Zebra's Fetch Robotics Cloud subscription is required for full functionality, so confirm software transfer terms before purchasing second-hand units.
