Overview

The Universal Robots UR10e is the extended-reach member of the UR e-Series family, offering 12.5 kg payload and 1,300 mm reach across 6 axes. It is aimed at tasks requiring coverage of a larger work envelope than the UR5e can provide, such as palletising, bin picking from deep containers, and multi-station machine tending where the arm must reach across a conveyor or between two machines. The UR10e shares the same e-Series controller architecture as the UR5e and UR3e, so programmes and peripherals are largely interchangeable across the family. Force-torque sensing is built into the wrist.

Use Cases

The UR10e is widely deployed in end-of-line palletising for boxes up to around 10 kg, assembly of larger sub-components, welding with appropriate torch tooling, and pick-and-place from bulk bins. In UK logistics and food processing facilities it is used to stack trays and cartons onto pallets at the end of packaging lines. Its reach makes it suitable for inspecting or treating large workpieces without repositioning the base.

Buying Used

The UR10e is common on the European secondhand market. UK prices for used units typically range from £12,000 to £22,000. As with all e-Series arms, verify joint hours through the PolyScope log before purchase. Check for play in the larger shoulder and elbow joints, which bear more load than equivalent joints on smaller UR arms. Confirm the controller firmware version and whether any custom PolyScope programmes or licence-locked plugins are installed, as these may not transfer cleanly.
