ALLEX

Overview

The WIRobotics ALLEX is a Korean bipedal humanoid standing 1,650 mm with over 3 kg single-hand payload and a 55 kg body weight, on pre-order with pricing not yet announced for international markets. WIRobotics is a South Korean startup positioning ALLEX as a lightweight, agile platform suited to service and light industrial applications. The relatively low body weight of 55 kg is a practical safety advantage in environments where a robot fall could cause equipment damage or injury, and it reduces the infrastructure requirements associated with heavier platforms. South Korea has a strong humanoid robotics research tradition and a supportive regulatory environment for service robot deployment, which may accelerate the ALLEX's path to commercial availability.

Key Specifications

• Height: 1,650 mm
• Single-hand payload: over 3 kg
• Body weight: 55 kg
• Price: not announced
• Status: pre-order

Use Cases

ALLEX targets service robotics applications including hotel and hospital environments, as well as light manufacturing tasks requiring a mobile, human-scale robot. The low body weight is an advantage in environments with floor load restrictions, such as older commercial buildings, raised-floor facilities, or upper floors in buildings not designed for heavy equipment.

Buying Used

No secondhand units exist. Buyers interested in ALLEX should contact WIRobotics directly for pre-order information and international distribution options. Import logistics from South Korea are straightforward for UK buyers, and South Korean manufacturers generally have strong quality control documentation that supports CE and UKCA compliance processes. Buyers should confirm firmware update support and parts availability commitments before placing pre-order deposits.

Alternatives to Consider

• NEURA 4NE-1 ($60,000 to $98,000): European-made alternative at a comparable development stage
• Unitree G1 ($16,000): available now at much lower cost for research applications
• Apptronik Apollo ($100,000): industrial platform with active pilot programmes and a mature support infrastructure
