Unitree's research-grade bipedal humanoid at $90,000, reaching 1.8 m and 30 kg payload with a class-leading 3.3 m/s walking speed. 19 DoF platform sold mainly to research institutions and industrial R&D teams globally. One-hour runtime limits continuous deployment; used market units available where labs have upgraded to newer platforms.
The Unitree H1 is Unitree's research-grade bipedal humanoid, priced at $90,000 (approximately £71,000). At 1.8 m tall and with a 30 kg payload capacity, it occupies a different market segment from the smaller G1, competing with platforms such as the Fourier GR-2 and Apptronik Apollo. The H1 is notable for achieving a walking speed of 3.3 m/s, one of the fastest recorded for a commercially available humanoid robot. Unitree released demonstration videos of the H1 performing dynamic walking and light manipulation tasks, attracting substantial interest from research institutions in Europe and North America. The H1 ships with a comprehensive SDK and simulation tools, enabling researchers to develop and test controllers before deploying on hardware, which reduces the risk of costly actuator damage during early development phases.
The H1 is aimed at advanced locomotion research, whole-body control experiments, and institutions requiring a robust bipedal platform capable of outdoor terrain navigation. Its high walking speed and large payload make it interesting for logistics simulation research and human-robot interaction studies. Several European universities have acquired H1 units for gait and balance research, and the platform is used in sim-to-real transfer experiments due to its accurate published dynamics model.
Used H1 units are rare but beginning to appear as early research programmes complete their grant cycles. Inspect actuator wear at the hip and knee joints, which bear the most load during dynamic locomotion. Battery packs degrade over charge cycles, so request full cycle count data before purchase.
