X-Humanoid

Overview

The X-Humanoid is developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, a state-backed research institution that produced the Tiangong Ultra humanoid (which set the 100m sprint world record for humanoids at 19.7 seconds in September 2026). As of October 2026, The Robot Group is the official UK distributor and is taking expressions of interest from UK businesses and research organisations.

The X-Humanoid features 43 degrees of freedom, including 12-DoF dexterous hands capable of object manipulation, and bipedal locomotion with real-time terrain adaptation. Onboard AI processing handles perception and motion planning. The robot is subject to UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) marking requirements for legal deployment in the UK.

UK Availability

The Robot Group (robotgroup.co.uk) opened UK enquiries in October 2026. Units are subject to UKCA conformity assessment before deployment. Lead times and pricing are available on enquiry. Research institutions and businesses should confirm UK certification status and warranty support terms before committing.

Use Cases

Suited to research into bipedal locomotion, dexterous manipulation, human-robot interaction, and embodied AI. Early commercial pilots in light manufacturing inspection and customer service roles are in progress in China. UK deployment is expected to focus on research and pilot use cases initially.

Alternatives to Consider

• Fourier GR-1 (~$200,000): established Western distribution, strong UK research community
• Unitree H1 (~$90,000): lower cost bipedal platform with good SDK access
• Engineered Arts Ameca: purpose-built for customer-facing interaction
