Ff Futurist

Overview

The Faraday Future Futurist is an adult-size humanoid from Faraday Future's robotics division, standing 169 cm with 28 degrees of freedom and a 3-hour runtime, priced at $89,900 (approximately £71,000). Faraday Future is better known as an electric vehicle company that has experienced significant financial turbulence, and the Futurist represents a diversification into humanoid robotics. The platform targets professional and commercial buyers. Prospective buyers should carefully evaluate Faraday Future's corporate financial position and ongoing support commitments before committing to a platform that requires sustained software updates and hardware support. The combination of an unproven support structure and a relatively short 3-hour runtime makes the Futurist a higher-risk purchase compared with platforms from dedicated robotics manufacturers.

Key Specifications

• Height: 169 cm
• Degrees of Freedom: 28
• Runtime: 3 hours
• Price: $89,900 (approx. £71,000)
• Status: available

Use Cases

The Futurist targets service, demonstration, and light industrial applications. Its human-scale form and 28 DoF suit customer-facing service roles and light manipulation tasks. The 3-hour runtime is a limitation for continuous industrial deployment; buyers should plan charging logistics into any deployment design.

Buying Used

Used Futurist units are not yet commonly available. Buyers should take additional care to verify ongoing software support and parts availability given Faraday Future's history of financial difficulty. Any secondhand purchase should include a review of whether Faraday Future Robotix operates as a separately capitalised entity from the parent EV business, as this would affect the continuity of support in the event of further corporate restructuring. Legal advice on warranty transfer is recommended at this price point.

Alternatives to Consider

• Unitree H1 ($90,000): similar price, established robotics community, strong support
• Apptronik Apollo ($100,000): purpose-built industrial platform from a dedicated robotics company
• NEURA 4NE-1 ($60,000 to $98,000): European engineering focus with comparable capabilities
