Figure AI's Figure 01 is the first-generation bipedal humanoid from Figure AI, standing 1,676 mm with a 20 kg payload. Figure 01 was piloted in BMW's Spartanburg manufacturing facility, representing one of the earliest real-world humanoid deployments in an active automotive production environment. Figure AI has since released Figure 02 and announced Figure 03, making the Figure 01 effectively a legacy platform. However, it demonstrated the viability of humanoid robots in manufacturing environments in a way that influenced industry expectations and investor confidence across the humanoid sector. The Figure 01 pilot also provided important learnings about human-robot collaboration in constrained factory spaces that informed the design of subsequent generations.
