Yaskawa Motoman
Yaskawa Motoman's 10 kg collaborative arm with 1,200 mm reach across 6 axes and a full IP67 rating throughout. Thru-arm cabling includes Category 6 Ethernet, I/O, and air, making it well suited to end-of-arm tooling in food, pharmaceutical, and general manufacturing environments. NSF H1 food-grade grease included as standard. New pricing around £28,000 to £38,000 in the UK; used units from £15,000.
The Yaskawa Motoman HC10DTP is a six-axis collaborative robot arm manufactured by Yaskawa Electric Corporation of Japan, sold under the Motoman brand in Europe and North America. It is the current-generation version of the original HC10DT, adding improved thru-arm utility routing (the "TP" suffix standing for Thru-wrist cable Plus). With a 10 kg payload and 1,200 mm horizontal reach, it targets assembly, machine tending, and pick-and-place tasks in environments where hygiene or washdown requirements make full IP67 protection essential.
The HC10DTP routes an M8 A-coded I/O connector, a Category 6 Ethernet cable, and an air supply through the arm, eliminating external dress packages that can snag in confined workcells. The YRC1000micro controller is substantially smaller than most industrial robot controllers and can mount inside a standard control cabinet.
The HC10DTP is used in food and beverage assembly, pharmaceutical dispensing and kitting, and automotive sub-assembly. Its IP67 rating and food-grade grease make it suitable for zones requiring daily washdown. The thru-arm routing simplifies integration with camera systems, suction tooling, and pneumatic grippers by keeping cables protected and out of the work envelope. In the UK, it has been deployed at contract manufacturers in the East Midlands for screwdriving and press-fit assembly alongside operators on mixed lines.
The Yaskawa Motoman HC10DTP and its predecessor HC10DT appear on the European secondhand market through Surplex, Machineseeker, and Yaskawa Motoman's own certified pre-owned programme. Expect to pay between £15,000 and £25,000 for a used HC10DT or HC10DTP in the UK depending on age and hours. Yaskawa's YRC1000 controller is a reliable unit; verify the software version against the arm firmware and request joint logs to check for any joint replacement history. The HC10DT (earlier model without thru-wrist routing) is more common used and shares most of the same kinematics.
