AgiBot X1

Overview

The Agibot X1 is a compact 1.3 m research and education humanoid from Agibot, with a 0.5 kg arm payload and a target price aimed at making humanoid platforms accessible to academic buyers. It is on pre-order with ROS (Robot Operating System) support confirmed, making integration with existing research codebases straightforward. The X1 sits below the A2 and A3 in Agibot's bipedal range, targeting universities and developers who need a capable but affordable bipedal platform for software development and data collection. At 1.3 m, the X1 is also safer to operate in shared research spaces than taller, heavier platforms, reducing the safety infrastructure overhead that larger humanoids require. Agibot's growing ecosystem of humanoid products means SDK and tooling investment in the X1 may transfer to larger platforms in the same family.

Key Specifications

• Height: 1.3 m
• Arm payload: 0.5 kg
• Software: ROS support confirmed
• Price: not formally announced; positioned as a low-cost research unit
• Status: pre-order

Use Cases

The X1 is suited to robot learning research, student education, and teleoperation data collection projects. The ROS interface makes integration with existing research codebases straightforward. At 1.3 m, it is safe to operate in standard lab environments without specialist safety enclosures, and its compact form reduces the risk associated with large platforms in shared research spaces.

Buying Used

No secondhand units exist; the X1 has not yet shipped at scale. Once deliveries begin, used units are likely to appear through university research group surplus channels.

Alternatives to Consider

• Unitree G1 ($16,000): available now with a strong community and comparable research focus
• Noetix Bumi ($1,400): much lower entry cost for pure education use cases
• Hello Robot Stretch 3 ($17,000): wheeled but far better-supported research platform available today with a mature ecosystem
