ANYmal D

Overview

The ANYbotics ANYmal D is ANYbotics' current-generation inspection quadruped, manufactured in Zurich, Switzerland. It is an IP67-rated 40 kg robot with 10 kg payload and a 2-hour runtime, designed for automated inspection of industrial facilities in harsh environments including wet areas, confined spaces, and potentially explosive atmospheres. ANYbotics was founded in 2016 as a spin-out from ETH Zurich and has built the ANYmal platform into a commercially deployed industrial inspection solution used by oil and gas, chemical, and power generation companies globally.

ANYbotics positions the ANYmal D for continuous autonomous inspection without human intervention, replacing manual inspection rounds and reducing the exposure of workers to hazardous environments. The platform supports hot-swap battery replacement to enable near-continuous operation.

Hot-swap battery support enables continuous operation without downtime: the robot autonomously returns to a charging dock, batteries are swapped (manually or automatically), and inspection resumes.
